We are so excited you want to join in on the Halloween fun with us!
For some kids, the sights, sounds, and surprises of Halloween can be a lot to take in. A sensory-friendly Trunk or Treat keeps things calm and predictable, so every kid can enjoy the night in the way that works for them. Here’s what we ask of each trunk:
- No loud music
- No strobe lights
- No spooky surprises
- No fog machines or strong scents
- No animatronics or motion-activated props
- Keep your trunk open and easy to see into, no dark tunnels or enclosed walk-throughs
- Let kids take at their own pace, no need for them to say “trick or treat” or make eye contact
- If you’re in costume, keep your face visible and skip the full masks
We’re also strongly encouraging allergen-free treats so every kiddo can grab something. We love YumEarth!
Go all out on decorations
Kiddos love a themed trunk, especially when you dress up too. We just ask that themes stay kid friendly and nothing too scary. A few ideas to get you started: Disney movies, book characters, superheroes.
Bring any signage or promo materials you’d like. This is a great chance to say hello to families in our community.
